Child psychologist deals with mental and behavioral problem of a child. They are trained in such a way that they can find the problem in child as well as adolescent. In this field there are various opportunities to make a bright career. In future one can join hospital, school or judicial system as a psychologist or one can make private practice. Step 1. Take psychology as a major subject in your college in order to understand the base of the subject. After you complete your graduation you will have a degree in psychology. In the college level you can get this subject directly if you are a student of another stream.

Step 2. You can also take statistics with psychology. Statistics can help you a lot as psychology includes statistical record. You may not be a student of statistic but this subject will help you in your research work.

Step 3. To become a good psychologist you can consult with senior psychologist. You can download the solutions of any problem from internet. You can also have some e-books in internet.

Step 4. To work with the children is the best policy to understand the psychology of children. So get involve in some work by which you can directly communicate with children. By doing this work you can also judge yourself whereas you are suitable for this work or not.

Step 5. You can also make some program on children in your nearest schools. It will be a great opportunity for you to get some experience on the subject. You can check whether there is any vacancy in this school or not. If there is any vacancy you can work there free of cost to get some experience. 

Step 6. If you want to make a career in psychology then you need to have a doctored degree. After completion of your graduation you have to go for master degree then you can apply for a PhD. This will take five to seven years. After completion PhD you can join in internship until you certified as a psychology.

Step 7. After completion of your PhD you can apply for state licensing. Once you get this license you will be able to work as a psychologist.
